Simplifying Hydroponic Farming via an App

Background:

As hydroponic farming requires constant monitoring at various stages ofcrop growth, we intend to automate the process and control main aspects of the process.

Project Features:

  • Monitor Water Vitals: Real-time access to check water quality w.r.t. pH levels,
    conductivity, temperature, tank levels.
  • Auto Fan/ Light Control: To maintain the ambient temperature.
  • Autofogger/ Sprayer: To cool down the plants in case of very hot to hot weather
    conditions.
  • Farm CO2 Levels: Adjusting the carbon dioxide levels that help in the growth of the
    plants.
  • Water Flow Rate: Control the supply of nutrient-rich water based on the stages of plant growth.

A lot of factors determine the success of a hydroponic farm. This includes water flow, pH level, ambient temperature, CO2 Levels, etc. The challenge was to integrate all of these aspects on a single platform and accurately measure these parameters.

By optimizing the sensors and controls, we developed an integrated monitoring and control system with a cloud-enabled dashboard. The feature-rich dashboard has loads of features like real-time monitoring and notifications, SMS alerts, historical logs, automation, and a unique form of Farm Score feature.
